Ceramic Art with Elizabeth Halderson

$25 members | $35 regular price

Join us for a ceramics workshop with Elizabeth Halderson, the founder and creator of Elizabeth's Pottery. We'll learn the ceramic-making process from start to finish and create our own coastal Georgia dishes to take home! Trace coastal-themed designs onto your signature dish or draw your own detailed artwork. Fossils, biofacts, and beach combing finds will be provided for tracing or to inspire your designs, or you are also encouraged to bring your own! Capture your favorite shell, leaf, or coastal Georgia treasure in a beautiful ceramic dish (which will be glazed in Elizabeth's own studio and returned following the workshop). Beer, wine and light hors d'oeuvres will be provided.

Elizabeth will also share her coastal story and the inspiration behind her work. She grew up on St. Catherines Island, where at the dinner table, her family would share stories of the wonders of coastal Georgia. These tales later became the inspiration for her work as a ceramic artist. Each of her creations are hand drawn, and all of the plants and animals on her work can be found nearby in local habitats. Elizabeth's work inspires new conversations among families and friends, and drives support for the conservation of our sea turtles, shorebirds, and sand dollars. For all those who want their art to tell a story, her beautiful pottery is the answer. Elizabeth believes in our coast, and through her art, she shares its important message.
